Freedom Trees are a living memorial to the lives of 4 million men, women and children who lived under the oppression of slavery and struggled for freedom. Sponsored by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Sand Run Nursery & Preserve, and Paul Hemmer Companies, Freedom Trees provides generations of Americans an opportunity to commemorate those lives through the purchase and planting of native hardwood trees in Freedom Groves throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Freedom Tree proceeds will supplement the endowment which supports the programs, education and research efforts of the National Underground Freedom Center.
